Gallerie Niche
Gallerie Niche is not the kind of gallery you’ve seen in the Bangalore circuit. We’re small, we don’t have fancy interiors and we’re not part of the social circuit. So what makes us different ?
We’re an open door to young and new talent; we’re extremely supportive when it comes to reviewing work and offering the right kind of advice. We’re also committed to an inspired art-lover community that wants to start small and grow a collection.
How did it all begin ?
There were two key motivators behind the setting up of Gallerie Niche. The first was a deep desire to be part of Bangalore’s fast-changing culture canvas. Over the last 10 years, art as an awareness has been visible in more ways than one. The increasing number of galleries, art in the social circuit, the city’s own growing talent pool and a visible orientation towards investments in art.
The second motivator was the need to create an open door community for artists and art lovers. To share thoughts, ideas, discover new talent and make new friends. Our weekend event called “Coffee & Art” will go a long way in making this possible.
Helpline for artists
At Gallerie Niche, we plan to extend our support to artists at three levels. First, a genuine evaluation of the artist’s canvas from the touch-points of method, medium, style, genre and a mentor influence. Second, constructive feedback in terms of saleability and pricing. Third, guiding the artist along the learning curve – to further his or her potential, explore new styles, new mediums and newer expressions.
What we plan to do here, is work one-to-one with the artists, in order to give them the singular guidance that they seek and the benefit of collective exposure that the gallery can provide. In other words, the objective here is to discover talent and nurture it to higher levels of potential and expression.
